This is an early piece of studio ceramics by David Fry, produced at his Cails Yard Studio in Newcastle, between 1981 and 1983.

The vase is in a teal blue on a parchment ground, with tiny flecks of royal blue.

The base is stamped with a rectangular impressed mark: "D:FRY".
